Ok, I’m no good at editing either, but just let me say, “Holy Crap!” I never realized ‘Thor’ was Vincent D’Onofrio! And the “friend” is Anthony Rapp from RENT I believe.
This movie was a lot of fun and it blew my mind when I realized who played Thor. It too happened many years later. Friggin’ awesome.

This seems to be the common reaction, as both my wife and I said the same thing upon checking IMDb. 🙂
All these years later, and my first reaction upon seeing Vincent D’Onofrio in “Adventures in Babysitting” is still, “Hey, it’s Gomer from Full Metal Jacket!”
Telling her Anthony Rapp was in it is how I got my daughter to watch “Adventures in Babysitting”. I just really, really wish I still had the standee from the movie I picked up back in college so we could have showed up with it at the stage door when Anthony touring with RENT a couple of years ago and asked him to sign it. Would have been interesting to see how he responded.
Also, did you know that Chris Columbus directed bot “Adventures” and the movie version of “RENT” so it was a reunion film for Columbus and Rapp.
All this hype about the THOR movie makes me nostalgic for my old Mego Thor action figure. Long hair, wristbands, hammer that never quite stayed in his hand, and helmet that had a spike in it so it’d stay on his head (though it must’ve hurt like hëll to wear).
BTW, I went to Toys R Us today, and in with the Thor toys (sadly, no Uru Hammer that makes lightning or storm noises when hit) was the Invasion Frost Giant. However, this “giant” is just about the same size as the other figures, including Thor! Still, I suppose if I had to face a giant, I’d want it to be one that was somehow my size…
Well, back in the Middle Ages, being a good 6 or 7 feet would have made someone be considered a “giant”. So, maybe that’s it.
