“Bye Bye Buffy”

This coming weekend is the Shore Leave convention down in Maryland. I’ll be there, along with Kathleen, Ariel and Caroline (not to mention my sister and one of Kath’s brothers and their families). Come see the world premiere of “Bye Bye Buffy,” which they’ve been working very hard on. Here’s the poster (presuming I do it right.)

  1. Dang it Peter, when you gonna get down here to Dallas? All this stuff in places I got no time or money ta get to.

  2. Ah, dámņ… Shore Leave is this weekend? How did time slip through my fingers again?!? 2003 is just moving way too fast.

    *scrambles to make weekend plans*

  3. Sean,

Did you miss AggieCon in the Spring? PAD was there. We drove from DFW down to College Station for it.

(Of course, AggieCon has dropped off a lot in the last 10 years since I last attended one, IMHO, but that’s a different discussion).

  4. That looks pretty dámņ cool, Peter. I hope it goes well. ‘course, I won’t get to see it.

Man, I hate living in Utah. You don’t get the big conventions and authors you folks back east and on the west coast get, but every now and then they hustle someone through so we all feel guilty about complaining. My heads still spinning from Niel Gaiman’s reading in February.

    Well, good luck.

  6. Oh Jeez.

I’m a sucker for musical parodies. Any chance of a soundtrack or libretto being released?

  7. The number of years in a row that I have been a fan of your work and just missed your con in the area…: 10. Number of years being a fan of your work: 10.

Two weeks ago Peter, I would have SO been there. (I have an apartment in nearby Towson where I stay during the school year.) Ironically, the one weekend your in the DC/Balitmore area, I’m going to be in New York.

  8. Wow, I’d really like to see that.

How about filming the event and put it online on this site? That would be great for PADfans all over the world.

  9. Corey,

Yes, we were there for the Sunday panels – bright and early for the reading and his Q&A later that day. We were the couple with the 9-year old girl who was getting a bit antsy (bored) during the Q&A.

I remember you all! I was the one asking questions about stuff only people who visit this site have heard about. 🙂

  11. Yeah, I’ve been stuck in Oklahoma for the last 2 year, so I missed his apperance in Texas. But I’m back now.

  12. Dallas would be good. The convention here seems more interested in tv/movie star guests than comic guests (except for the local ones and the excitement fades after you’ve seen them a dozen or so times.

  13. PAD, What are the chances of you making it to the west coast? Seattle/Portland specifically?

  14. after this is performed, will you havew a transcript of the play on your site?

I think there would be alot of people waiting to read a Peter David penned Buffy project. Hint. Hint. 🙂

  15. It looks like fun. I’ll definitely have to stay long on Sunday to see it. My daughter, Rachel, who was also at the convention last year, will be along again.

  16. I really, really, really, really (really) wish I could see this. (Really.) (No, really.)

  17. Oooh!! Excellent!! The only day I can make it, you’ll be doing the show!

I’ll be there, book in hand for an autograph, and ready to watch BBB!

  18. We all look forward to performing for those of you who can make it. It’s coming together nicely and we’re all feeling pretty good about it.

  20. Shore Leave was loads of fun this year and Bye Bye Buffy was a definite highlight. Peter hit loads of laughs with jokes all over the place, coming fast and furious. Great performances by the cast. I was very glad we stayed for it.
