Ariel’s Cancer Walk Update

Thanks to you guys, Ariel was able to exceed her goal for the cancer walk. I should mention that quite a number of kids gave up around three in the morning or so, but Ariel kept at it all the way through to 6 AM.

I’ve since learned that they are continuing to take donations through to the end of June. So if you haven’t put in for this very worthy cause, you still have time to do so. Refer to the June 3 entry for the details and link.

I don’t ask a lot of you guys. We don’t harangue you about donating money for the upkeep of the site and all that. But in this case, if you can donate, please do. We get thousands of hits on this site; if every person reading this puts in even $10 it will send her fundraising through the stratosphere. I’d like to see that happen.

  1. Happy to help Ariel with something important like this. Among other things, the ACS does a very good job supporting cancer research, which is becoming increasingly important as research gets more expensive and NIH’s budget gets smaller. As a researcher, and more importantly, a family member of cancer survivors – glad to see this.

  2. Wait… we can harangue them about paying for upkeep on the site? I should be haranguing somebody

  3. PAD,

I just gave $10 to Ariel’s cancer walk. I had a cousin who was also my best friend (On a personal note Anthony was the one that got me interested in collecting your HULK run. The arguements we got into. I was the Hulk fan and he was the Punisher fan!LOL) and Anthony died from complications from lung cancer in 1997 after a SEVEN year battle. The doctors only gave him six months to live. Talk about will power! Long fan boy story short: she did a good thing and I am sure you are proud of her!

    1. Thanks, Michael. And thanks to all of you who have contributed thus far. The fantasy goal is to get her total above $1000. That would be amazing. I’ve already contributed, but if we can get her to $950 I’ll cover the difference.

      1. PAD,

You are more than welcome. BTW Would you mind if I posted this on Facebook? You might get more donations. I will not post a link until I get your permission either way. Just trying to help out.

        Later,

  4. PAD,
I donated $10 a couple days ago. Could you give us an update at some point to let us know how well Ariel is doing? Ariel is doing a great thing raising this money.

    1. Updates are easy: You can go check yourself just by clicking on the link from the June 3 posting. It’ll take you right to the site and you can see where she currently stands. I think at the moment she’s at $685.
